What is Hiss and Croak?
Wildlife Safaris with Hiss and Croak
Herping with Hiss and Croak
Herping: is the act of searching for amphibians or reptiles. The term, often used by professional and amateur herpetologists, comes from the word "herp", which comes from the same Greek root as herpetology, herpet-, meaning "creeping".
Herptiles are extremely weather-sensitive and often appear in heavy rain or peak monsoon season. Herp-related tourism, like bird-related tourism, is on the rise.
Many herps have their own territories and replacing them somewhere else would be a disturbance, thus we make sure to have minimum contact with the herp and most often avoid it completely.
Our team takes precautions and adheres to the ethical form of Herping making sure as to not disturb the Wildlife while carefully observing their behaviour in their natural habitat. Our most preferred destinations for Herping are Amboli, Munnar, Nilgiris, Matheran, Agumbe and other parts of the western ghats.

Birding with Hiss and Croak
BIRDING: The identification, observation and photographing of wild birds in their natural habitat as a recreation is known as birding. It can be done with the naked eye, through a visual enhancement device like binoculars and telescopes, by listening for bird sounds.
Birdwatching often involves a significant auditory component, as many bird species are more easily detected and identified by ear than by eye. One should know the difference between the terms birder, birding, and bird-watching.
Birder: The acceptable term used to describe the person who seriously pursues the hobby of birding. It may be professional or amateur.

Birding: A hobby in which individuals enjoy the challenge of bird study, listing, or other general activities involving bird life.

Birdwatcher: A rather ambiguous term used to describe the person who watches birds for any reason at all and should not be used to refer to the serious birder.
